25 random things about me

1. I am in love with 5 boys: Shayler, Matthew, Joshua, Adam, and Zachary. My husband and children are everything to me.

2. I Love football. BYU football. I love it! When we lived in Washington I actually cried one time when I saw the Y mountain on TV. I am not usually a cruel person but if you say something mean about BYU football watch out. After Shayler and I got married he quickly became a more faithful fan to avoid my wrath. It's irrational, I know, but it's the Caldwell in me. I recently went to a game with my sister, Lori, and we had so much fun watching the game and talking about past games. One Christmas eve at my parents house, my sister-in-law suggested that we go around the table and share a favorite memory from the year. We decided instead to take turns sharing our favorite BYU football moments.

3. I never even went to BYU. I lived in Provo for 4 months and didn't really like it. I moved to Logan to go to Utah State and I fell in love (with Shayler and with Logan). My son Adam's name was actually Logan for the first two weeks of his life. After graduating from USU and living in Washington for 5 years we were able to move back to Logan and we hope to stay here forever.

4. I currently have a child care in my home. There are between 8-12 kids at my house every day and I enjoy it! I adore each child that comes here. I don't do it for the money as much as for the chance for my kids to have friends to play with and for me to have some adult conversation (My sister and a couple of moms work for me). The little extra money is nice though.

5. I love to work in my yard. I love my trees and bushes and flowers.

6. I have stopped organizing the clothes in my closet by color, the cans in my pantry are no longer organized and in straight lines, and I gave up on folding underwear. I figured out that not folding underwear will save me 480 hrs. during my lifetime. I might eventually give up on folding socks also.

7. If you have known me when I have been pregnant, I'm sorry.

8. I am scared of my kids growing up and not having a baby in the house. (see #11 and #22)

9. I could give up my TV pretty easily but would find it hard to live without my computer for even one day.

10. I love garage sales and DI. I am very proud of my good finds. If you come to my house I will show you all the great stuff I have found and how much money I saved.

11. My favorite smell is the smell of a new baby. I copied this random item from my cousin Melanie. I think the newborn stage should last at least a year.

12. I don't know if I will ever be bored again. I can't imagine what it would be like to have nothing to do.

13. I have been making most of our bread for six years now. It's healthy and it's helping to use up the 700 lbs. of wheat in our food storage.

14. I think the 3 main food groups should be chocolate, cold cereal, and berries.

15. I have been cold for months. I love Logan, but I wish the winter wasn't so long.

16. I have to speak in church in a few weeks. I would be willing to pay $300 to anyone who will do it for me. Really, I'm serious. I will write the talk and everything - all you have to do is read it. Any takers?

17. I have not cleaned a toilet in the last 10 years. I don't have a maid, just a really great husband.

18. I think being in the nursery at church is the best calling there is.

19. My favorite color is yellow. It makes me happy.

20. I finally got a cell phone a couple of months ago. I don't like carrying it around, but it has come in handy a few times. I still think the contracts are way overpriced so I got a pay-as-you-go.

21. 21 is my favorite number. It is the day in August that I was married.

22. I always wanted 8 children, but I'm not going to make it. I'm getting too old. One more. Maybe two.

23. I love to organize closets, cupboards, and files. I don't like to organize activities or parties.

24. I was a missionary for my church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I am thankful that I went. I learned a lot and I grew a lot, but it was hard for me every day. I know people say that being a mom is the hardest job there is, but I thought it was a lot harder to be a missionary. On my worst mothering days I can still say to myself, "At least I'm not in Wilkes-Barre (Scranton)". I did meet some wonderful people there who I love. I would love to go back to PA for a visit. It is a beautiful place with lots of history.

25. I turned out okay because I had wonderful parents. They are good and kind and fun. Home will always be sitting in their basement in front of the fire and eating oranges. I have wonderful brothers and sisters. I have been surrounded by good people my whole life.

Zacharoo turns 3!

Zacharoo turned 3 on January 20th. We had been asking him for several weeks what he wanted for his birthday. He said he wanted muffins. His brothers tried to talk him into asking for a Nintendo DS and several other things that they wanted, but he would get upset and say "I just want muffins". If we were all that easy to please!
